About the Colloquium
: An illustrated lecture on the nature of information technology as it developed in Eurasia over the centuries. The introduction of reverse image printing to the Koryo court was to have lasting influence on intellectual life on the Korean peninsula. From the recent discoveries of examples of the early printing, it is possible to construct a description of the Buddhist canon that was put into this new technology in the 10th century. Using the information contained in catalogues and histories, we can better study the way in which technology of print was transferred from the capital of the Northern Sung capital to Kaesong.
