Seoul National University Ranks #1 in Highest Investment in Its Students

The statistics on how much educational spending each university in Korea is directing towards their students has recently been released. The student investment of each institution was calculated irrelevant to their tuition fees.

Seoul National University turned out to be number one in terms of student investment among all Korean universities with more than 10,000 enrolled students. According to research conducted by the Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI), SNU invested a total of 33,439,500 KRW last year per student. This amount was also overwhelmingly higher than that of the second-ranking Yonsei University, which invested a total of 20 million KRW per student.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Korean Educational Development Institute announced on November 1 that their analysis of the per capita student investment of each academic institution is now available on the government’s Center for H.E.I Information Disclosure official university information website (academyinfo.go.kr). Per capita student investment refers to how much each college in Korea spent on services and education directly offered to every student on average during a span of one year.
