2008 Spring Semester Course Registration, Matters to Note

1. 2nd Course Registration Dates: Thursday, February 28th 2008 ~ Friday, February 29th 2008, 09:00~16:00
  - As the Course Registration for the 2008 Spring Semester is taking place before the major entry for sophomores (last years’ freshmen), students that do not yet have a major will have to register for their major classes during the 2nd course registration.

2. Some courses have been discontinued and other courses have been newly established due to a reorganization of the student curriculum. To search for similar classes to the classes you have already been credited for, you must search for the substitutable courses.
  - Login to the SNU portal (http://portal.snu.ac.kr) -> 학사행정 (Student Administration) -> 수업관리 (Class Management) -> Curriculum -> Same / Substitutable Course search OR login to the Course Registration page -> search same course

* To change the password, go to http://my.snu.ac.kr and login -> 학사행정 (Student Administration) -> 개인정보 (Personal Information) -> Go to 기본인적 (Change Personal Information) -> use ‘수강신청 암호변경’ (Change Course Registration Password) to input new Course Registration password.

3. During course registration, if there is a substitutable course available a message window will pop up. If you register for that course, you will be registered as retaking the particular course.

4. During the course alteration period (beginning of March) only 6 credits are available for change. Please plan your alterations accordingly.

5. Select Courses of the College of Social Sciences, College of Law and College of Business Administration may have their own student selection criteria. Please refer to the information before registering for relevant classes.

6. Freshmen requisite courses will be partially restricted for registration during the current students’ course registration period as listed below.

7. Foundation of Education and Core Education courses will be open to 10% of its full capacity with the exception of the required courses of the Foundation of Education (College Korean, College English and Calculus 1) courses. General Education courses will allow 90% of the capacity to be filled by current (non freshmen) students, allotting the remaining 10% to freshmen students entering into SNU in 2008.

8. Relevant Courses (Foundation of Education, Core Education)
  - College Korean, College English, Core Education Courses, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology related subjects, Statistics, Digital Computer Concept and Practice, Fundamentals of Computer System, Principles of Computer System, and other Foundational Science related subjects

9. Students taking select general sports classes will require to pay a small fee to cover facilities. The classes are swimming (Posco IB swimming pool), golf (on-campus and off-campus classes) and bowling (Royal Bowling Alley).

10. College Korean is a class for freshmen and students must take it in their first year. Please also note that students must take the classes allocated to their relevant colleges.

 

11. To register for the Writing Class students must have completed their “College English” credits

12. Students retaking Engineering Mathematics 1 (010.140) must register for classes <014 ~ 017> which are allocated for people retaking the course.

13. Information on the Volunteer Social Service Courses
   - Students must apply to volunteer service programs before registering to a Volunteer Social Service course. Please refer to the website for more information.
   - To take Volunteer Social Service II, students must have completed Volunteer Social Service I.

14. Notice on Student Self Research 1 and Student Run Seminar
   - Students registering for the Student Self Research 1 can only register if they get selected.
   - For information on the Student Run Seminar, pleas refer to the website information.
