SNU-Sorbonne Offer Joint Doctorate Degree

The SNU College of Natural Sciences agreed to implement a joint doctorate degree system with Sorbonne University, one of the best schools in Paris.

When this system becomes implemented, the SNU College of Natural Sciences and professors from Sorbonne University will form a team and engage in joint research, and the students will reside in each country for at least one year and participate in the research efforts. Also, the professors of each school will take joint responsibility for the research, thesis evaluations, and degree approval processes.

Sorbonne University is well known as Marie Curie's alma mater, and is one of the best schools in France with a celebrated tradition in the field of natural sciences.
Professor Oh Se Jung, Dean of the College of Natural Sciences said,"This is the first time a school in Korea has implemented the joint doctorate degree system with a school of such high calibur."
