Due to the characteristics of the Social Service Course, it is necessary to search for volunteer organizations and apply to the desired program (to volunteer at) a week in advance. To search and apply for organizations and programs, go to the homepage of the Faculty of Liberal Education (http://liberaledu.snu.ac.kr/) follow the steps listed below.
Click on “사회봉사교과목” (Social Service Course) on the right.
Click on “봉사기관 검색 및 사회봉사활동 신청” (Search for organization and register for volunteer program), which is the third icon from the top, in the center.
The following icons should be seen towards the bottom of the screen.
The blue icon links to the organizations and programs that are available for students who are taking Social Service Course I.
The green icon links to the organizations and programs that are available for students who are taking Social Service Course II, which is basically the same but pre-requires the completion of Social Service Course I.

About Course Registration
In order to register for the course during the course registration period, you must apply to a program (as described above), after which the name list will be uploaded onto the server on the hour, every hour from 10 AM to 3 PM, allowing you to register for the course.
Please note that you must register to the same course code as indicated on the specific program that you applied to.
Social Service 1 and Social Service 2
Social Service 1 is for students who have never taken the Social Service
Course before and is the prerequisite to Social Service 2.
Basic Orientation,
Course Orientation, and the Final Evaluation
All students taking the Social Service Course are required to attend both
orientations and the evaluation. There
are two Basic Orientations, one for students taking Social Service 1 and one
for Social Service 2. The Course
Orientation is divided into smaller groups, depending on the program subjects
(child, elderly, disabled, civil groups etc) and then into smaller groups
according to the guidance professor.
The Final Evaluation meets in the same groups as the Course Orientation
after completion of the social service and you must submit the final evaluation
report (downloadable from the homepage of the Faculty of Liberal Education).
All three classes and the final evaluation report are mandatory for a pass
grade. Please note that if all parts are
not completed the student will be given a U grade.
