The Gwanak-sa Dormitory will be open during the summer vacation for SNU students. Applicants should forewarned that there will be lack of air conditioning system.
* The following applies only to current dormitory residents who wish to stay in Gwanak-sa for the summer vacation. Students who are not current dormitory residents may disregard the following notice.
1. Payment Period: Monday, May 26th ~ 5 p.m. on Friday, May 30th
2. Procedures to Print the Payment Bill
① Click the area shown above in red outline at the Gwanak-sa web page.
② If the pop-up box appears as shown above, click the tab outlined in red.
③ The 2nd pop-up box will appear as shown above. Log on to the Gwanak-sa website.
④ From the left-side menu, click the “고지서출력”(Printing Payment Bill) tab.
Fill your information and print your payment bill. The printing service is only available during the payment period, Monday, May 26th ~ Friday, May 30th.
3. Payment Instructions
(1) Paying through the virtual account written on the payment bill
- Account transfer is available through bank branch locations, ATMs, phone banking or internet banking.
- Students can select to send payment to either the Nonghyup or Shinhan Bank account.
- If the payment is made through institutions other than Nonghyup and Shinhan Bank, additional service fees may be charged.
(2) Paying through the fee payment system
- Students can select to send payment to either the Nonghyup or Shinhan Bank account.
- Shinhan Bank is offering an on-campus payment service.
- Location: 3rd floor of building No. 900
- Period: Monday, May 26th ~ Friday, May 30th. (
* Students using this service, will no be able to verify their payment status until after the payment period..
4. Payment Verification Instructions
(1) Payment results are verifiable through the Gwanak-sa website and SNU portal site.
- Residents can check the results one day after the payment.
- Click the “서류접수확인/입금조회”(Application/Payment Check) tab which is located underneath the “고지서출력”(Printing Payment Bill) tab mentioned above.
(2) Payment results are also verifiable through Nonghyup or Shinhan Bank websites.
5. Fees
- Double room: 217,500 won
- 6 persons room (Bldg 919): 251,500 won
- Single room (Bldg 918): 331,500 won
* Air-conditioned buildings will charge an extra 20,000 won.

6. Gwanak-sa Residence for Summer Vacation
- Residence Period: Monday, June 3rd ~ Saturday, August 23rd
- Residence Place: All the buildings of Gwanak-sa except for building No.921
7. Room Allocation
- All the students except for Bldg 921 residents will use the current room.
*Further notice for Bldg 921 residents will be announced after the payment period.
8. Refund Policy
(1) Registration ~ Jun. 13th : 100% refund
(2) Jun. 16th ~ Jun. 20th : 90% refund
(3) Jun. 23rd ~ Jul. 7th : 70% refund
(4) Jul. 8th ~ Jul. 22nd : 50% refund
(5) Jul. 23rd ~ Aug. 6th : 25% refund
(6) Aug. 7th ~ : No refund
* Those who want refunds during (1)~(2) periods which extend before the check-in period, should drop by the administration office and fill out the resignation form.
(This also applies to those who want the temporary check-out during the vacation)
9. Notes
(1) Bldg 921 will not be open due to the bathroom construction.
* Bldg 921 residents who want to stay in Gwanak-sa will be allocated to other buildings available. Further information will be announced after the registration is completed.
(2) After the registration period is over, Gwanak-sa will not accept any application from the residents.
(3) The current dormitory residents who will not stay during the summer vacation should be aware the followings.
- Check-out should be done by Sunday, June 22nd.
- Rooms have to be empty. (Using storage room is available except for valuables)
- The period of check-in for the 2nd semester is Saturday, August 30th ~ Sunday, August 31st (
