Energy-Saving Policy

SNU has decided to take part in the National Energy-Saving Policy to reduce energy expenditure in the face of rising oil prices. Please take note of the steps to be taken by SNU to save energy. We strongly urge you to partake in the energy-saving effort. We hope you will endure the slight discomforts that may result amiably and follow the listed guidelines for the success of this energy-saving program.

Energy-Saving Campaign on Campus
1. Maintain air-conditioner temperature above 27℃
2. Turn off all lights when leaving the room.
3. Turn off the air-conditioner when leaving the room.
4. Wear simple attire (No ties).
5. Participate in the alternate-day-no-driving system
(License plates ending with odd and even numbers taking turns).
6. Take the stairs for less than 5 floors.

 

Steps to be taken by SNU to Save Energy (initiated June 14th 2008)
1. Turn off spectacle lights (the main gate, the MOA, etc).
2. Shortened streetlight lighting hours (turned off at 11p.m.).
3. Shortened outdoor lamp lighting hours (turned off at 1a.m.).
※ Excluding lamps around the Administration Building, University Central Library, and dormitory pathways.
4. Turn on only half the lights in hallways, staircases, and bathrooms.
5. Turn off nighttime floodlights at sports facilities (main stadium, dormitory stadium, baseball field, basketball court, etc).
