This workshop will deal with the basics of writing English essays on various topics. The workshop will cover the following contents:

1. Basic structure of an essay: Introduction, body, and conclusion
2. Basic element of an essay: Thesis statements and paragraphs
3. Common mistakes: Frequently-made grammatical errors
4. Other elements to consider when writing an essay: ex) Citation and plagiarism

This workshop is open to all students who wish to gain basic knowledge on essay writing and further improve their English writing skills. After a brief introduction about the basics of writing in English, students will be invited to practice writing sample essays and participate in a group discussion. This workshop is recommended for students who are able to write sentences in English, but have trouble writing an essay and/or those to those who are unfamiliar with the fundamentals such as thesis statements and topic sentences.
