In commemoration of Seoul National University’s 62nd anniversary, SNU is hosting a marathon on Friday, October 24th: to promote health and physical activity, and to provide a turning point for all SNU members, and strive for higher health. We invite all students, staff and faculty to participate. Please see below for details of the event.

1. Event Title : 2008 Seoul National University Marathon

2. Time & Date : Friday, October 24th 2008 - 10:00 ∼

3. Opening Ceremony : Grass field in front of the Administrative Building

4. Starting Point : In front of Culture Center (Building 73)

5. Marathon Course :

ㆍ Course A (9.7 km): In front of Culture Center – Main Gate – Sillim-dong direction – Ssookgo-gae – Gwanak-gu Office – Main Gate – Geesooksa Samgeori (Dormitory Junction) – Front of Professor Hall – In front of Electric Plant – In front of the Institute of Advanced Materials – College of Agriculture and Life Sciences – In front of the Administrative Building

ㆍ Course B (3.8 km): In front of Culture Center – Main Field – College of Business Administration Junction – Geesooksa Samgeori (Dormitory Junction) – Front of Professor Hall – In front of Electric Plant – In front of the Institute of Advanced Materials –In front of the Administrative Building

* students can only register for Course A.

6. Qualification :
ㆍ Students : must be registered for the 2008 Fall semester (non-registered students are not eligible)
ㆍ Staff & Faculty : includes all staff, on contract, indirect, self-employed, Nonghyup & Joheung Bank employees, Hoam Professor’s Hall employees etc…

8. Awards :

ㆍ Students:
- Male and Female students will be awarded separately
- Prizes :
   1st prize – 1,000,000 won scholarship
   2nd prize – 500,000 won scholarship
   3rd prize – 300,000 won scholarship

ㆍ Staff & Faculty:
Males and Females will be awarded separate for each course, 1~3rd place
All participants will be given a number, likely distributed on Wednesday, 22nd (TBD)
All participants who complete the course will be given a souvenir

9. Miscellaneous
- All participants will engage in a simple warming-up exercise before departure
- Please do not go over your capability. If you find it difficult to complete the course, an ambulance will be on stand buy.
