Gwanak-sa Dormitory Application for 2009
1. Qualification: Students from outside of Seouland foreign students as below:
A. Undergraduate/Graduate students including freshmen and returning students
- There will be a separate application period for freshmen
B. Students who will attend SNU Gwanak campus in 2009
※ Graduate (research) student: Students who have completed Master’s or Doctoral coursework but did not submit their graduation thesis, and work full time (at least 5 days a week) with no other occupations.

- Graduate students must submit ‘Certification of full time graduate student’ to the Gwanak-sa office during designated period.
2. Restrictions: Students who apply to anyone of the followings are restricted
A. Students who have GPA lower than 2.0
- GPA for the 2008 Fall Semester is not included
B. Students who will not attend SNU Gwanak campus in 2009
C. Students with contagious and/or infectious diseases>
D. Students who have a record of disciplinary action or eviction
- Student with 6 demerits or more from their dormitory supervisor
E. Students who reside in suburban districts of Seoul: One of their family members, (father or mother), lives in Seoulor nearby suburban areas
- Suburban areas are defined as: Bucheon, Gwangmyeong, Anyang, Siheung, Gwacheon, Gunpo, Uiwang, or Seongnam.
F. Other reasons restricted by dormitory supervisor or committee
A. Students who are family members of a national meritorious person.
- Requires certification of the national meritorious person or tuition waiver forms from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs
B. Students who have a disability
C. Students whose parent(s) is currently working abroad as a government employee
D. National basic living support recipients
※ Students who have difficulties in commuting due to physical handicaps or disability may apply regardless of the above requirements.

2. How to Apply: Apply through the Internet

- Use the ‘입사안내’ menu > ‘입사신청시스템(Application system)’
(2) Or SNU Homepage: http://my.snu.ac.kr
- Use the '학사행정' menu > '기숙사'
3. Medical Examination
(1) Period
- Undergraduate students: Wednesday, December 3rd ~ Friday, December 5th
- Graduate students: Monday, December8th ~ Wednesday December 10th
(2) Location: SeoulNationalUniversity’s UniversityHealthServiceCenter(Bldg. 67)
(3) Notice:
- If applicants are taking the medical examination at the SNUHealthServiceCenterduring the period above, he/she does not have to submit the result of the medical examination separately, as the results will be sent directly to Gwanak-sa.
- If applicants are unable to use the SNU’s HealthServiceCenterduring the given period, he/she can take a medical examination for ‘dormitory application use’ at any community health centers or hospitals and bring the results for submission directly to the Gwanak-sa office.
4. Admission and Waiting List Confirmation - Date: Monday, December 29th, 11:00 AM
- Announcement of accepted residents and waiting list will be posted online at the Gwanak-sa homepage
- Log on to the Gwanak-sa application system(입사신청시스템), use the ‘합격조회’ menu or ‘대기번호조회’ menu
5. Roommate Application
- Period: Monday, December29th, 11:00 AM~ Monday, January 5th 2009, 18:00
- Those who are selected to be residents can choose their roommate during the period stated above via the Gwanak-sa homepage
6. Documents Submission and Payment
- Period: Monday, January 12th 2009, 10:00 AM~ Wednesday, January 21st 2009, 17:00
- Details regarding required documents and payment will be posted at a later date.
