The 77th Anniversary Founding Day Celebration was held on 13th of October (Fri.)

In celebration of the university's founding anniversary on October 15th, the "77th Anniversary Founding Day Celebration" was held on the the 13th of October. The celebration took place at the Central Auditorium in the Cultural Center at 11:00 AM, and it was open to all members of the university community. The event program included a national ceremony, commendations, the presentation of "Proud Seoul National University Alumni," a commemorative speech by President Honglim Ryu, congratulatory remarks by Kim Chong-sup (President of the SNU Alumni Association), a performance by the College of Music choir, and the singing of the university anthem.

Every year, during the Founding Day Celebration, individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the university are recognized and awarded commendations. This year, the awards included long-service commendations for faculty and staff who have served for 40, 30, and 20 years; the Gwanak Community Service Award for students who have contributed to fostering a spirit of service through volunteer activities; the Social Service Experience Award for outstanding students selected based on their personally written essays about their community service experiences; commendations from affiliated institutions (Gwanak Police Station, Gwanak District Office, Gwanak Fire Station, and Siheung City Office); and the Professor Association President's Award for students who have become exemplary figures or achieved exceptional accomplishments and have been recommended by their advising professors.

Following the commendations, individuals who have demonstrated both outstanding character and contributions to the national and global society, elevating the honor of Seoul National University, were awarded the "Proud Seoul National University Alumni" certificate. The 33rd recipients of the "Proud Seoul National University Individuals" award were Cho Wan-kyoo, former President of Seoul National University, Lee Hong-koo, former Prime Minister, and Lee Hae-jin, founder of Naver Corporation and Chairman of Line Corporation.
